The TAG Heuer Monaco hit the market in 1969 in honor of the famous Monaco Grand Prix. The model was revolutionary for its distinctive square case. It was also one of the first automatic wristwatches on the market. The Monaco solidified its place in watchmaking history and pop culture when legendary actor and racer Steve McQueen sported the model in his 1971 film Le Mans. However, TAG Heuer discontinued the production of the iconic Monaco after about a decade. The brand later reissued the beloved model in 1998 with an updated design.

The 37 mm case and crown are in black titanium coated with titanium carbide with finely brushed and polished finishes. The black dial is punctuated with luminescent white indexes.
