Even more need to quote the name of the mark… Over the years, this collection, has been widened with many models. The latest versions were presented last summer and here, in this fall 2020, two special and limited editions.
Watch dial
Each limited to 1,860 pieces, these two new watches (water-resistant to 100 meters / 330 feet) are available in blue or white dials. They are inspired by the classic Heuer “Dato 45” which, in 1965, was the first wrist chronograph with a rotating date disc. As such, and like their ancestor, these special Carrera Sport chronos feature a date window at 12 o’clock (instead of 6 o’clock)!
As Catherine Eberlé-Devaux, Heritage Director at TAG Heuer, emphasizes: “choosing the 3147N, the internal reference for the Carrera“ Dato 45 ”, was a daring decision that prompted our team of designers to create a sober dial. and readable with a date window in an unusual position. Watch case
The blue dial model features a 44mm polished and finely brushed steel case and a blue ceramic bezel with tachymeter scale. The circular brushed blue dial features white snailed counters at 3 and 9 o’clock, marking the elapsed minutes and hours respectively. A permanent seconds counter in blue opaline is positioned at 6 o’clock.
The white dial model has the same case, but its black ceramic bezel with tachymeter scale forms a beautiful contrast to the silver opaline dial. Black snailed counters for the minutes and hours are positioned at 3 and 9 o’clock respectively. A permanent seconds counter in white opaline is positioned at 6 o’clock.
Both versions feature rhodium-plated indexes and rhodium-plated hour and minute hands coated with white Superluminova, making it easy to read in all lighting conditions. The dial features a rhodium-plated TAG Heuer logo printed with the words “Carrera Heuer 02 80 Hours”.
The opening at 12 o’clock (surprisingly), displaying the date in red on a white background, is the flagship element of this model as well as a nod to the original 3147N “Dato 45” watch, the source of inspiration for these models. new timepieces. On the engine side, this new Carrera features the Manuf ’Heuer 02 caliber, visible through the transparent caseback. This movement is made up of 168 parts, including a column wheel and a vertical clutch, and provides a comfortable 80-hour power reserve. The screwed steel back is engraved with the words “ONE OF 1860”.
Watch bracelet
The new steel bracelet with H-shaped links is thinner, therefore lighter and more ergonomic. It closes with a folding clasp and two safety push buttons. These two chronographs are delivered in a special case, specially designed for the 160th anniversary of TAG Heuer.
